Welcome to the MegaMinds Beta!

Thank you for your interest in our public beta! MegaMinds is a social learning platform that runs in your browser. With MegaMinds you can customize your own 3D interactive virtual worlds and add all of your teaching content (images, videos, PDFs, 3D models, and more) for your students to explore. You can invite your students with a simple URL, no installation or downloads required. Though a laptop is recommended, MegaMinds can run anywhere on any device, including tablets and smartphones. MegaMinds is very flexible from a pedagogical point of view and can adapt to most of your teaching needs. Asynchronous instruction, live instruction, homework assignment, 1 to 1 tutoring, small groups, large groups, ongoing courses… It's all very simple to accomplish on the platform.
Asynchronous InstructionBecause of the social and gamified nature of the platform, we feel strongly that an asynchronous approach to instruction is one of the most effective on our platform. After you’ve added your content to the world, students will explore and learn in a self-directed manner and also have opportunities to interact with their peers.
Synchronous InstructionSynchronous instruction can take a number of forms:● Remote teaching● Front of class presentations● 1 to 1 tutoring● Small group instruction● Used an attention grabber or re-energizer
Use CasesHere are some additional ways you can use the platform:● Hold online office hours● Set up an interactive learning station● Create an online classroom extension to make your materials available to your students 24/7● Create worlds with personalized content to scaffold learning● Give each student their own world they can use as a workroom● Set up project based assignments● Create a virtual student lounge

Take a moment to take a look around the user interface. You can mute your mic, take photos, share your screen, add links, create objects, draw with a 3D pen and much much more. We'll get into these controls in the Teacher Handbook, but first we’d like you to know about the different ways you can use the platform in your teaching practice.
Sign Up to TeachOnce you feel like you're comfortable with the interface and ready to start customizing your first world, you're ready to fill out an application to teach on our platform. Just click that 'Sign Up' button on the top right. Unfortunately, during the beta period only approved users will be able to use the platform to build learning worlds. Once your application has been approved, we'll schedule an onboarding session where we'll walk you through best practices for building and maintaining your world.
